Why Do I Need A Website?

Why Your Social Media Page Is Not A Substitute For A Website

Your Social Media Page Is Not Your Website

Having a social media page is great for business, but it should never serve as a substitution for a website. If you are in business, you absolutely, positively without a doubt need a website! It is one of the only spaces online that you can control. You have control over the content and what you want your potential customers to know. You have full control over what will be shown and you don’t have to worry whether or not a pesky algorithm is going to keep your content from being seen by those who need your services.

Risky Business

If your social media is hacked, deleted, you get locked out or shut down for any reason, what’s next? In reality, most hacked accounts are not recovered if the issue is not dealt with immediately. You would have to start from scratch and try to reconnect with the following that you worked so hard to build. Another incident that happens quite often is an account can be replicated by a hacker who pretends to be you. Having a website will help to verify your business identity and protect your brand and it gives your customers other ways to connect with you (contact forms and info, email / newsletter subscription, blog commenting, links to other social platforms, ect.)

Your social media page is a place where you can engage with your potential customers and lead them to your website where they can learn more and take action. Having a website and not just social media pages shows potential customers that you are a legitimate and professional business.
